Hey all, looking for a sharp Sigma prime for my Fuji X-T5. I mostly shoot street photography. I'm aiming for something versatile. My budget is around $800. Any specific Sigma lens recommendations for that price range that work well with the X-T5's sensor?

So looking at what everyone else has mentioned, you've got plenty of votes for the 30mm and 56mm, plus some valid concerns about how third-party AF holds up. But honestly, if you're rocking the X-T5, you gotta think about the resolving power of that 40MP sensor - it's a total beast and it'll show the flaws in older optics pretty fast. If you want the most versatile street setup that actually keeps up with that high-res sensor, you should really look at the Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary. It gives you that classic 35mm equivalent FOV which is basically the street photography sweet spot for most pros. I've been using it for a while now and the MTF performance is way more consistent across the frame than the older 30mm design. Quick tip: always update the lens firmware through the camera body as soon as you get it - it basically fixes those minor hunting issues people talk about. Just remember these aren't fully weather-sealed like the Fuji WR primes, so don't get caught in a downpour without a cover or something!

Sigma 30mm f/1.4, in my experience. Sharp, versatile. Costs around $300. Worth considering, but test it first!

Consider a used Sigma 30mm f/1.4. Great value, sharp, and easily found under $300.

Consider Sigma 56mm f/1.4. Chromatic aberration control is surprisingly good for the price.

Street shooting? Consider Sigma's 30mm f/1.4. Its wider field helps you stay aware of surroundings; safer than tunnel vision from tighter lenses. Check used market for deals.

Street shooters often lean Sigma, but honestly, I've had issues with their Fuji integration. Autofocus wasn't as good as expected. For $800, explore used Fujifilm primes. They hold value well. Check MPB or KEH; safer than eBay. Consider consulting a camera shop pro for compatibility advice – better safe than sorry!
