I just picked up an X-T5 and love it, but I’m struggling to find the right external flash. I mainly shoot street portraits and need something with reliable TTL and HSS support. I've looked at Godox and Nissin, but which one balances best on the X-T5 body? Any specific recommendations for a compact yet powerful unit?

Sooo, +1 to what was said earlier about Godox. Honestly, I've been shooting for years and learned the hard way that cheaping out on power can lead to some sketchy overheating issues during long street sessions... especially when you're pushing HSS hard. I'd basically compare these three based on my experience:
- Godox V350F Li-ion Flash for Fujifilm: The absolute best choice. Using a Li-ion battery is way *safer* than AAs which can get crazy hot if you're shooting fast.
- Nissin i60A Flash for Fujifilm: More power, but it's kinda chunky and feels a bit top-heavy on the X-T5 body.
- Godox TT350F Mini Flash for Fujifilm: Same size as the 350F but runs on AAs, so it's a bit slower. Tbh, I'm super happy with the Godox V350F Li-ion Flash for Fujifilm. The recycle speed is instant and it never feels like it's gonna melt. Best balance of safety and size for street portraits for sure! 👍

For your situation, i think you cant go wrong with the Godox TT350F Mini Thinklite TTL Speedlite for Fujifilm. it is basically the budget king for fuji shooters. you can usually find it for around $85, which is crazy cheap for what you get. it has full TTL and HSS support, and because it only takes two AA batteries, its super light and compact. but actually, if you can swing the extra cash, i highkey recommend the Godox V350F Li-Ion Camera Flash for Fujifilm instead. it’s basically the same size but uses a rechargeable lithium battery. it usually runs about $160, but the recycle time is sooo much faster and you wont be fumbling with AA batteries in the middle of a street shoot. i mean, i used to carry around bags of batteries but switching to the V-series was a total game changer for me. ive tried the bigger units like the Godox V860III-F TTL Flash for Fujifilm but honestly?? they’re just too bulky for street stuff on an X-T5. the 350 series balances perfectly and doesnt look ridiculous. it just feels right in the hand, you know? anyway, thats just my experience from years of trial and error with fuji stuff. gl with the portraits! peace

Late to the party, but I went through this last year. Godox V350F vs Nissin i400 for Fujifilm vs Fujifilm EF-X20: Godox has 1.7s recycle speeds. Godox is technically superior, tbh.

Respectfully, I'd consider another option: β€’ Meike MK-320F TTL Flash for Fujifilm Over the years, I've found it's way cheaper and compact. Honestly, it balances *perfectly* on the X-T5! ur gonna love it.
