Hey everyone! I’ve been absolutely loving my X-Pro3 for street photography, but I’m really starting to feel the lack of a built-in flash during evening shoots. I’m looking for a compact external option that won't ruin the camera's sleek rangefinder aesthetic or make it feel too top-heavy. I’ve been eyeing the Godox V350F for its size, but I’m also curious if there are better TTL-enabled alternatives that offer a more premium build. Since the Fuji EF-X20 is basically impossible to find at a fair price now, what are you all using? Does anyone have a recommendation for a small, reliable flash that balances well on the X-Pro3 for quick indoor or street work?
Quick question - do u strictly need TTL? Ngl, depends on ur budget:
1. Godox Lux Junior Retro Camera Flash (Manual/cheap)
2. Nissin i400 for Fujifilm (TTL/better GN)
Both balance well!
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, if you wanna save cash while keeping things safe, check out the Meike MK-320F TTL Speedlite for Fujifilm. It's basically $75 and highkey reliable. - **Grab the Meike MK-320F:** Best budget TTL option i've found.
- **Why:** It's super low-profile so it wont feel wierd on an X-Pro3, plus the electronics are realy solid. I've had zero issues on my own rig! gl!
hey! honestly i totally get the struggle... the xpro3 is way too sleek for a massive flash. i've tried the smaller budget ones vs the more premium metal options and it's a huge difference in feel. are you looking for something that looks vintage to match the camera, or do you mostly care about how it balances for street work? also whats your budget? cuz the high-end stuff gets pretty pricey! gl!
I would suggest being very careful with the weight distribution on the hot shoe. The X-Pro3 is built like a tank, but the internal mount pins are actually pretty delicate if there is too much leverage from a top-heavy unit. Briefly agreeing with the point about build quality basically being a dealbreaker—it is not just about aesthetics, but how the flash handles minor impacts during street work. When you are comparing brands, keep these technical aspects in mind:
Before I give advice, quick question—are you planning to bounce the light off ceilings, or are you strictly looking for direct flash for that raw street look? Adding my two cents here, the Godox V350F TTL Li-ion Flash for Fujifilm is technically great because of the Li-ion battery—recycle times are way faster than AA units, which is clutch for street work. But tbh, the build is pretty plastic-heavy and might feel "cheap" compared to the titanium X-Pro3. If you want something more premium, the Nissin i40 Compact Flash for Fujifilm has a metal hotshoe and dedicated dials which feel amazing, tho it’s a bit chunkier. Also, is TTL a hard requirement for you? The LightPix Labs FlashQ Q20II Manual Flash is tiny and looks rad, but it’s fully manual. Basically, it depends if you need technical features like HSS or just a simple fill... idk, let me know!
