I just got a Fujifilm X-T5 and love the retro dials, but I am moving from a different system. I need help finding the right gear to protect it and improve handling.

I am looking for:

  • a fast SD card for 40MP files
  • a screen protector

What are the must-have accessories you recommend?

Congrats on the X-T5. Since youre dealing with those huge 40MP files, honestly dont skimp on the card. I always stick with SanDisk for reliability. Youll want a V90 card to handle the data flow and avoid buffer issues, so check out the SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II V90 128GB. For the screen, get a glass protector on there immediately. I use the Expert Shield Glass Screen Protector for Fujifilm X-T5 because it fits perfectly and doesnt mess with the touch sensitivity. Better to be safe than sorry with that screen, especially if you plan on keeping the gear long term... those 40MP files are no joke and definitely demand the right cards to keep everything safe.

Totally agree on V90 speeds. For reliability, I trust Lexar Professional 2000x SDXC UHS-II 128GB. Also, pick up a JJC Tempered Glass Screen Protector for safety.

Hey! Been thinking about your setup since I saw this earlier. Before I dive into more gear, what are you actually planning to shoot mostly? Like, are you doing lots of high-speed bursts and 6K video, or just casual street photography and landscapes? It makes a huge difference on whether you really need to drop the extra cash on V90 cards or if you can get away with V60. If you want the absolute best and dont mind the price, Sony SF-G Tough Series 128GB UHS-II V90 is basically indestructible and crazy fast. But if youre mostly doing stills, you could save a ton with something like ProGrade Digital SDXC UHS-II V60 Gold 256GB and get double the storage for less cash. For the screen, I usually just grab a pack of ULBTER X-T5 Tempered Glass Screen Protector 3 Pack. They are super cheap and honestly work just as well as the premium brands, plus you get spares if you mess up the install.

Quick reply while I have a sec! Tbh those 40MP files are massive so you definitely need speed, but you dont have to spend a fortune. I use the Kingston Canvas React Plus 128GB UHS-II V90 because its usually cheaper than the big name brands but still hits top speeds for burst shooting. For protection, skip the super pricey glass and just grab the JJC Screen Protector for Fujifilm X-T5. They usually come in a two pack so you have a spare if you mess up the first install, and honestly, you cant even tell its there once its on. Handling wise, the body is kinda small for some people. I really recommend getting a SmallRig L-Shape Grip for Fujifilm X-T5. It gives you a way better hold without adding a ton of weight, plus it makes it easier to mount on a tripod quickly. Enjoy the new camera!
