Hey everyone! I just picked up the Fujifilm X-T5 and I’m absolutely in love with the film sims and that 40MP sensor. However, coming from a different system, I realized I need to kit this thing out properly. I’ve already noticed the grip is a bit shallow for my larger hands, and I’m worried about which SD cards can actually keep up with those massive file sizes. I’m also looking for a stylish but functional strap that fits the retro aesthetic. Since there are so many options out there, I don't want to waste money on gear I'll never use. For those who have been shooting with the X-T5 for a while, what are the absolute essential accessories you’d recommend for a better shooting experience?

sooo i totally get the budget struggle. honestly, you dont need to spend a ton. i'm super happy with the Meike MK-XT5G Metal Hand Grip—it fixes the shallow grip issue for way less cash. for cards, the Lexar Professional 1667x 128GB SDXC UHS-II Card handles those 40MP files no problem without the V90 price tag. maybe check out a Vancity 604 Rope Camera Strap for that retro vibe too! 👍

ok so for the grip, the official Fujifilm MHG-XT5 Metal Hand Grip is pricey but actually fits the camera lines perfectly and adds an Arca-Swiss plate. worth it tho. for those huge files, you highkey need SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II Card V90 or it'll lag like crazy. for the retro vibe, i've been sooo happy with the Clever Supply Co. Skinny Anchor Strap. looks sick on the t5!! cheers

Ok so, I've been reading through the advice here and honestly... I've had a different experience over the years. Not to disagree with everyone, but I think focusing purely on speed for those huge 40MP files is kinda a mistake. In my experience, it's reallyyy more about reliability and data safety than just raw write speed. I once used a "fast" card that just died mid-shoot and I lost everything—it was literally the worst feeling ever. So yeah, instead of just chasing the highest specs, I'd actually suggest a different approach. Just get any high-end card from a brand like ProGrade or maybe Sony. They're basically built like tanks and I trust them way more with my work. Same for the strap—those thin "aesthetic" ones look cool but honestly they make me nervous. I'd go with a thick leather strap from any reputable boutique shop or even a heavy-duty wrist strap if ur worried about dropping it. Safety first, lol! gl with the new rig!

Oh man, welcome to the Fuji fam!! You’re gonna LOVE the X-T5, it's seriously amazing but yeah, those 40MP files are basically giants. I've been shooting Fuji for years and honestly, the right gear makes a huge difference. For the grip issue, I'd highkey recommend the SmallRig L-Shape Grip for Fujifilm X-T5 4136 because it adds just enough meat for your hands without ruining the vibe. Plus it has an Arca-Swiss plate built in which is SO handy! For cards, u definately need UHS-II speeds or youll be waiting forever for the buffer to clear... i personally use the SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II Card V90 and it handles the burst rates like a champ. For the strap, if u want that retro look but want it to be functional, Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap Sage is the way to go cuz of those quick-connect anchors. It looks realy sleek and its super comfy for all-day shooting! Hope that helps, lmk if u have more questions!! 👍
