Which prime lens is actually going to work for Fujifilm street photography without being a total pain in the neck?
Ive been shooting for over a decade, mostly Nikon gear, but I recently switched to an X-T5 for a trip to Chicago next month and Im honestly losing my mind trying to pick a single prime. I thought the 23mm f2 would be the obvious choice but the fujicron look is just... I dont know, it feels a bit soft wide open when Im close up and the bokeh is kind of nervous looking. I spent a fortune on this body thinking the transition would be seamless but the autofocus hunting on some of these older lenses is driving me crazy.
Heres what I have tried so far:
I need something that can keep up with people moving fast in the Loop. I have about $800 left in my budget after the body purchase. I mainly do candid shots, not looking to pose anyone. Is the 18mm f1.4 too wide for general use? Or should I just suck it up and get the new 23mm f1.4 LM WR even though its huge compared to the f2? I need to make a decision by next week before my flight. Im honestly about to just go back to my old heavy DSLR if I cant find a lens that feels right...
Grab the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/1.4 R LM WR! It is absolutely fantastic!
