The kit lens on my S5II is way too big and heavy for walking around. Im going to Chicago next week and want something tiny. I heard prime lenses dont zoom but are better for streets? I have like $400. Sorry if this is dumb but what small ones actually fit?

  • cheap

I totally agree with the prime recommendation. Unfortunately, ive had issues with cheaper lenses feeling like plastic toys that break too easy. If you want something reliable for Chicago, the Sigma 45mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary L-mount is your best bet. Its built like a tank. Ngl, most tiny lenses arent as good as expected, but this one actually holds up for street work.

Just saw this. What focal length do you actually prefer? Chicago streets are narrow so you might want something wider than a 50mm.

Unfortunately, tiny L-mount glass is kinda disappointing under $400.
