Best straps for Leica cameras: comfort vs style?

I’m trying to pick a strap for my Leica (mostly an M body) and I’m torn between something super comfortable for long walks vs something that looks “right” with the camera. I shoot street and travel, so it’s on my shoulder for hours, but I also don’t want a bulky strap that clashes with the classic Leica vibe. I’ve looked at thin leather straps, wider padded straps, and even rope-style ones, but I’m worried about neck/shoulder fatigue and the strap rubbing the body or lugs over time. For a daily carry setup with a 35mm lens, what straps strike the best balance of comfort vs style?

Oh man, been there… I did a whole day walking with my M + 35 and a skinny leather strap and my shoulder was MAD lol. Quick question tho: are you mostly shoulder carry or cross-body, and do you wear rough jackets (wool/denim)? If you want comfy but still lowkey classic, I’d look at ONA Presidio Camera Strap - Black or COOPH Leather Camera Strap - Black—softer edges = less bite, still slim, and they don’t scream “modern gadget.” Biggest lesson: avoid stiff strap ends, they’re what scuff lugs over time (at least thats what worked for me)… cheers!

+1 to the above (anchors help a ton). If you want more “Leica vibes” tho: **Option A** Leica Leather Carrying Strap 100cm Black = looks perfect, but it’s thin so long walks can bite. **Option B** OP/TECH USA Super Classic Strap Black = comfy and cheap, but yeah, kinda bulky/modern. **Option C** Artisan & Artist ACAM-100A Silk Camera Strap Black = my fave balance… wide-ish, soft, still classy. Also grab split rings + leather lug protectors to avoid wear, i mean seriously.

For ur M+35, I’d do a slim strap + a tiny shoulder pad, and add:
- lug protectors/soft rings (saved my finish after rubbing, unfortunately)
- check stitch/anchors monthly (mine loosened, not good as expected)
Comfy, still classic-ish.

For your situation, I’d go Peak Design Leash Camera Strap (about $40) with the little pad—wait no, it’s the shoulder pad add-on; comfy for hours, still slim/Leica-ish, and the anchors prevent lug/body rubbing.
