finally got my m11 but i am paranoid about scratching the base. i looked at arte di mano but the wait times are insane for shipping to chicago and oberwerth seems way too bulky for my small bag. is there a slimmer leather case that actually fits well but doesnt cost like five hundred bucks?

I have had issues with the official Leica M11 Leather Half Case Black lately. The fit was honestly disappointing for the price and felt kinda loose. You should look at the Kaza Deluxe Leather Half Case for Leica M11 instead. It is much slimmer than the Oberwerth and way more affordable than Arte di Mano. Shipping usually isnt too bad either. You got this, the M11 is an amazing machine once you stop worrying about the baseplate.

I was incredibly nervous about potential scratches on my M11! After a methodical evaluation of options, the Vi Vante Leica M11 Half Case Black Leather seemed best. The fit is amazing and provides fantastic security for the body. It cost me 125 dollars, which is excellent value. Honestly, I love how slim and reliable it feels, its been perfect for me!

I had issues with a generic sleeve I bought online that was just not as good as expected. The leather felt like plastic and the stitching frayed immediately, unfortunately. I finally grabbed the Lim's Design Leica M11 Half Case Italian Leather which is slim and has a solid metal base. Quick tip: make sure your case has a cut-out for the battery lever so you don't have to remove it constantly.

Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷
