Hey everyone! I finally took the plunge and joined the M-system family with a brand new Leica M11. I’m absolutely loving the image quality from that 60MP sensor, but I’m realizing that the bare-bones setup might need some additions to make it more practical for daily shooting. Since this was such a significant investment, I want to make sure I’m protecting the body without adding too much bulk.
I’ve been looking at the official Leica thumb support vs. third-party options like Match Technical—is the extra cost for the 'official' one worth it for the fit and finish? Also, regarding the SD cards, since the M11 has that internal 64GB storage, do you find yourselves relying on that, or should I invest in some high-speed UHS-II cards to keep up with the large file sizes? I’m also torn on whether to go with a minimalist half-case (like Arte di Mano) or just a simple screen protector and a high-quality strap. I’m mostly doing street photography and occasional travel, so I want to keep the profile slim but secure.
What would you consider the 'must-have' accessories for a fresh M11 kit to improve ergonomics and protection? Any specific brands you swear by?

Curious about one thing: what lenses are you shooting with? Heavy glass makes ergonomics tricky. Since that 60MP sensor creates massive files, write speeds and protection costs really add up. - TP Original Leather Half Case for Leica M11 vs Arte di Mano: TP is way cheaper and does the job.
- SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC vs internal: SD is much faster for offloading. Anyway, lmk about the glass!

Late to the party but yo, welcome to the fam! I've used M cameras for years and tbh those 60MP files need space. Here's my breakdown: - Leica Thumb Support M11: Perfect finish, but pricey.
- Match Technical Thumbs Up EP-MX: Better ergonomics, tho it sticks out more.
- SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II: Essential cuz that internal storage fills up fast!! Skip the bulky case and just shoot!! gl!

Seconding the recommendation above. Honestly, I’m always super cautious about data safety, so I wouldn't rely 100% on just the internal memory... Not sure but I think I heard some users had glitches with slow cards on the M11. Definitely grab some high-speed cards for security. Plus, a sapphire screen protector is a total must-have for peace of mind. Better to be safe, right? gl!

Congrats on the M11! Before I dive in with too much advice, are you the type of person who likes to do things yourself or do you prefer a professional service for things like screen protectors and skins? I mean, some guys love the process of applying that stuff perfectly and others just want it ready to go. Honestly, if you want to keep it simple but classy, here is my take:
- Go with Peak Design for your carrying needs, you really cant go wrong there
- Look at getting any leather goods from Luigi Crescenzi
- Just grab a generic brass soft release from any boutique shop I found that doing a bit of DIY with some high quality grip tape or even just a simple leather wrap you install yourself makes the camera feel way more personal. Its reallyyy satisfying when you get it just right. Tbh, the official stuff is nice but sometimes a bit of your own handiwork makes the M system feel like your's and not just something off a shelf. I think your going to love the sensor either way!
