Finally moved up to the Q3 but the ergonomics are a bit different than I expected. Heading to Berlin in two weeks and need to get sorted.

  • thumb grip that doesnt block any buttons
  • strap that doesnt dig in
  • keep it under $200

Does the official Leica one actually justify the price or is there something better?...

> Does the official Leica one actually justify the price? Quick reply. Are you planning to use an external flash or trigger in Berlin? I ask because I once had a cheap grip jam in my hot shoe... total nightmare. I'd suggest the Haoge THB-Q3B Metal Thumb Grip for Leica Q3 since it keeps dials clear, just be careful with the set screw. For straps, the Corda Handwoven Rope Camera Strap 100cm Black is way better than leather for long walks and wont dig in.

Ive tried many setups over the years and honestly, sticking to name brands is the only way to keep your gear safe. I dont trust cheap generic stuff.

Official is safest but pricey. I'd trust the IDS Works Q3 Thumb Grip Aluminum and Domke 1-Inch Web Camera Strap with Swivel Black. Just make sure to check L-Camera-Forum for compatibility warnings first.

To add to the point above: safety is basically key so you wont drop it. These work well:
