I just picked up a used GH5 for a wedding I'm shooting in like three weeks and honestly I'm kind of hitting a wall with all the extra stuff I need to buy. I've only got about 300 bucks left in the budget and I'm stressing. I'm torn between getting the SmallRig full cage to mount my monitor or just grabbing the Tilta half cage to save some weight and cash. Also, is the V-Log upgrade actually worth the 100 bucks right now or should I just stick to Cine-D and spend that money on extra batteries? I'm worried the battery life is gonna kill me during the ceremony at the park. Which setup would you guys go for if you were in my shoes?

Man, you're gonna love that camera! The GH5 is seriously a legendary beast for weddings and you're gonna have such a blast shooting with it. Honestly, dont stress too much about the V-Log right now. Cine-D is fantastic and much faster to grade when you've got a wedding deadline looming over your head. Save that $100 and put it toward power because you are absolutely gonna need it! I'd grab the Wasabi Power DMW-BLF19 Battery 2-Pack since they're way cheaper than the OEM ones and work great. For the cage, just go with the SmallRig GH5 Full Cage 2049. It is a total tank and feels so much more secure for mounting a monitor than a half cage. It basically makes the camera feel like a pro cinema rig! Since you're watching the budget, maybe skip the fancy Tilta stuff for now. If you have extra cash left, definitely pick up a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB SDXC V30 or two. Nothing kills the vibe like running out of space during the speeches! You've got this, just focus on getting those batteries and the cage and you'll be golden. It's such an amazing setup to start with! Reach out if you need some help with the custom buttons or anything!

Id grab the Tilta GH5 Half Camera Cage Gray to keep the weight down, but skip V-Log for now. Spend that cash on a couple Panasonic DMW-BLF19 Genuine Battery packs instead. Honestly, third party batteries like the Watson DMW-BLF19 Replacement Battery are okay for backup, but OEM is way safer for a ceremony. Youre gonna need that extra power.
