The $5499 price point is unfortunately disappointing for a camera that lacks internal ND filters. Technical analysis of the leaked specs suggests this is basically a repackaged sensor from the R5C, which had significant issues with power draw and heat management in my experience. While the 12G-SDI is a vital addition, the overall package is not as good as expected for professional field work.

Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Camera ILME-FX6V - provides a much better workflow with integrated electronic variable ND.

Canon EOS C70 Cinema Camera RF Mount - offers a more practical feature set for documentary work at a lower price point.

Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K L-Mount Cinema Camera - delivers similar image quality for significantly less investment. Canon seems to be focusing on specs that look good in a press release rather than solving actual ergonomic problems. Gonna wait for real-world thermals, but right now it looks like a pass for the studio. It just wont fit into a fast-paced environment without a ton of extra rigging tho...
