Is there any release time info about upcoming Z9 Mark II?
Honestly, i think everyone is just guessing at this point. Nikon is usually pretty secretive with the flagship stuff... IIRC the D6 took forever to show up after the D5. If youre looking for real info, you might want to consider keeping an eye on Nikon Rumors or Thom Hogans site. Those guys basically live for this stuff and they're usually spot on with the timelines. I would suggest being careful about waiting too long tho. If you need a pro body now, the current Z9 is still insane and you can find some decent deals on the used market lately. Make sure to think about whether you actually need a Mark II or if youre just getting caught in the gear acquisition syndrome trap lol. Just my two cents but id wait for some official teases before getting too hyped. Not sure but I heard some chatter that they might focus on the Z6 and Z7 updates first anyway.
I am stuck in the same position and it is honestly quite disappointing. I've been tracking the sensor readout speeds and thermal management metrics across the flagship segment lately, and unfortunately, the lack of a refresh cycle is not as good as expected. I had issues with the current processing pipeline during a high-speed action shoot recently, and looking at the raw data throughput, it's clear the hardware is hitting its ceiling. If you're as frustrated as I am, you might want to just look at Sony. You really can't go wrong with any of the professional mirrorless cameras from Sony right now. Their stacked sensor performance and AF polling rates are simply more advanced at this stage. It's a tough situation for those of us heavily invested in our current glass, but the technical stagnation is getting difficult to justify while we wait for news that never comes...
Like someone mentioned, we are all just throwing darts at a calendar right now, but I gotta say I totally disagree with the rush to jump on the next model the second it drops! I love the energy and the tech is gonna be amazing, but honestly, you have to be so careful with these early flagship releases. For those of us who need 100% reliability, waiting is actually the smartest move you can make.
In 2025. Maybe in the second half of the year.
