In 2025 or 2026 or 2027.
My guess is we won't see a Z8 II until after the Z9 II drops. Nikon Z9II: most likely in 2026, maybe a development announcement in late 2025, so I'd expect the Z8 successor to follow 12-18 months after that. So realistically 2027 for the Z8 Mark II. The current Z8 is already so capable - if they manage to deliver a well-balanced camera that meets the demands of both photographers and videographers, the Z8 II could be one of the most desirable mirrorless cameras of 2025, but that timeline seems optimistic to me.
To add to the point above: honestly thinking we wont see it until 2027 is super depressing. I have had issues with the thermal performance on the current Z8 when pushing high frame rates, and its unfortunately not as good as expected for long-form video work without some serious tinkering. Instead of waiting for a body that doesnt exist yet, I have basically been going the DIY route to fix the current models shortcomings:
I guess it will be released in 2026.
Nice, didn't know that
