So Ive been eyeing the Sony ZV-E10 for a while now to finally upgrade my stream setup and stop using my old Logitech webcam. Usually I pride myself on being a bit of a deal hunter and I live on Keepa and CamelCamelCamel to make sure I'm not getting ripped off but today is weird. The price just hit $698 on Amazon which is technically the lowest its been in about three months according to my tracking data but then I saw a banner for a special offer that only shows up when I'm logged into my Prime account and it's making me second guess everything.
My budget is pretty firm at $750 max because I still need to pick up a decent dummy battery and maybe a new desk mount. I'm based in Oregon so I'm trying to avoid sales tax if I can find a reputable seller elsewhere but honestly the Prime shipping is usually worth it since I have a trip to Chicago coming up next Friday and I really want to have this thing dialed in before then.
The weird thing is that there's a listing from a third-party seller called ElectronicsPro-US or something similar that has it for $640 but it says Ships from Amazon yet the return policy looks totally different from the standard 30-day window. Ive dealt with grey market gear before and I really don't want to get stuck with an international version that has no US warranty especially since this is a long-term investment for my channel.
Has anyone seen better than $698 lately at B&H or Adorama or maybe even Best Buy price matching? I keep hearing rumors about a mid-month sale but I'm worried if I wait too long the stock will dry up before my trip.
Is this $698 price actually the floor for this month or is Amazon just playing games with the Limited Time Deal tag again...
> listing from a third-party seller... for $640 but it says Ships from Amazon yet the return policy looks totally different Honestly, $698 is a solid price for a US model. Ive been super happy with mine and it works well with no complaints. That cheaper one sounds like a headache if the warranty is sketchy. Are you gonna use the kit lens or swap for a prime immediately? Also, are you strictly set on brand new or would a manufacturer refurb work?
^ This. Also, you might want to consider that some of those Prime-only banners are targeted and dont always reflect the lowest possible net cost. I suggest checking the vendor history on an Amazon price tracker before pulling the trigger. Quick clarification though, which specific desk mount are you looking at? Some of the sturdier ones could easily push your total over that 750 dollar budget.
Stumbled upon this discussion this morning. ^ This. Also, definitely be careful with those third-party listings even if it says Ships from Amazon. I once bought a unit that arrived with a non-US power cable and zero warranty support... total nightmare for firmware updates. TL;DR: Stick to the $698 Amazon-sold listing for the US warranty. I usually verify these technical price drops on PriceDropCatch.com to make sure it isnt just a fake deal tag.
