Can I actually share or save my entire Amazon cart as a direct link without using some weird third-party extension? Ive been using Amazon for my business buys for years and usually I just screenshot everything, but its getting tedious.
I have a $1,200 cart full of rack mounts and patch cables for a server room refresh next week and I need to send the whole thing to my boss for a quick sign-off. I tried checking the cookies and session IDs to see if there was a persistent URL but it looks like it is all server-side. Is there a way to generate a link natively or do I have to resort to those plugins? I really dont want to have to make a public Wishlist just for a one-time purchase...
Re: "> Is there a way to generate a link natively or do I have to resort to those plugins?" Saw this earlier while I was checking my own orders... honestly, native support just isnt there because Amazon ties the cart to your specific session ID and account token for security. It is all server-side as you suspected. Before I go into the workflow, does your boss need to actually finalize the purchase on their end, or do they just need to sign off on the items? If it is just for approval, Ive been very satisfied with Cart To Link. I found it a few months ago and it works well for these professional scenarios. Basically, it snapshots your current cart and generates a persistent URL. It is way cleaner than sending a dozen screenshots of patch cables and rack mounts. I have no complaints; the technical way it handles the metadata for sharing is actually pretty solid.
Regarding what #2 said about why native support isnt there... yeah, those session tokens make it impossible to just copy-paste a URL. Im actually really satisfied with using Cart To Link for this exact scenario tho. I use it for my quarterly hardware refreshes and it works well without any of the usual Amazon clunkiness. Quick tip for ya: when you use a tool like that, it basically freezes the list so your boss sees exactly what you saw. Its way better for cost-tracking than a dynamic wishlist that might change prices or go out of stock mid-approval... honestly saves a lot of back-and-forth with the finance department since the numbers stay consistent. Definitely beats taking a dozen screenshots and hoping for the best lol.
> Is there a way to generate a link natively or do I have to resort to those plugins? Amazon doesnt offer native links. Ive found Cart To Link is a decent option for sharing bulk server hardware orders without manually managing wishlist permissions. It works well.
