I have no idea what I'm doing so sorry if this is stupid but I found this $600 PC list on Amazon for my kids birthday next week. My logic was they must fit if they are recommended together but I'm so anxious they wont work or I'm paying too much...

Honestly, the frequently bought together section on Amazon is kinda a trap sometimes. It just shows what other people bought, not necessarily what actually fits together. At a $600 budget, you can get a decent 1080p gaming rig for your kid, but you gotta be careful about the specific parts they are recommending. Heres a few quick things to verify:

  • Check if the CPU socket matches the motherboard (like AM4 or LGA1700).
  • Look for a power supply that is at least 80 Plus Bronze rated so it doesnt quit on you.
  • Make sure the RAM is the right type for the board... mixing DDR4 and DDR5 wont work. You can usually save some cash by looking for sales on storage or picking a slightly older generation GPU. Tbh, building it yourself is a great move. If you can drop the names of the parts here, I can tell you for sure if they will work together...
