honestly so fed up with my kit lens the corners are just mushy garbage every time i try to shoot landscapes. I thought the 24-105 would be fine but its ruining my shots and I leave for Zion in five days. My logic was to save money but now I need a sharp wide angle for under $1200... what actually works on the R6?

^ This. Also, look into a used Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM with the adapter. Its legendary for edge-to-edge sharpness and should easily fit your budget. I use it on my R6 and honestly have zero complaints. Since youre hiking Zion, grab a Breakthrough Photography 77mm X4 CPL Filter to really pop the colors in the canyon. Youre gonna love the views!

To add to the point above: i’ve been using the Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM on my R6 for a bit and i’m super satisfied. No complaints about sharpness anymore.

Ngl those mushy corners are the worst, totally agree that the kit lens just doesnt cut it for big vistas. I would suggest looking at a dedicated ultra-wide prime if you want that edge-to-edge detail.

  • be careful with lens flare in the desert
  • make sure to check the total weight You might want to consider renting if you cant find a good deal in time!
