What is the best all-in-one travel lens for Fujifilm X-T5?

I've been shooting with Fuji since the X-T2 days but I just got the X-T5 and I'm lowkey panicking about what glass to take on my trip to Scotland next month. That 40mp sensor is no joke and I'm worried my old lenses won't keep up with the resolution plus I really need something weather resistant for the highlands. I want to stick to just one lens if possible because I'm hiking a lot and dont want to carry a heavy kit.

  • budget is under $1200
  • needs to be WR for the rain
  • good range for landscapes and maybe some street stuff in Edinburgh

Is the 16-80mm f4 actually sharp enough for this sensor or should I just suck it up and get the 18-120mm? Maybe even the Tamron 18-300? I'm just worried about losing that Fuji color science or ending up with mushy corners...

I'm very satisfied with the Fujifilm XF 18-120mm f/4 LM PZ WR resolving power on the 40MP sensor. Quick question, do you find yourself needing wider than 18mm for those highland landscapes?
