So I'm in a huge rush because my sons 5th birthday is next weekend and I still haven't sent out the gift list to anyone and everyone is starting to ask. My sister-in-law and my mom are both texting me non-stop today asking what he wants and I feel like such a failure because I actually spent hours making a list days ago but I have no clue how to actually give it to them. I feel so stupid asking this but I am just not a tech person at all and I'm staring at the Amazon app on my phone and I just don't see a share button anywhere that makes sense.
I tried to just copy the web address at the top of the page when I was on my computer but when I sent that to my husband as a test he said it just showed him his own login page or an empty cart and not my list of toys. This is so stressful because I live in a really rural area in Idaho so everyone has to order stuff online pretty much now to get it here in time for the party because shipping takes forever out here. If I don't send this out like in the next hour I'm worried nothing will arrive on time and he wont have anything to open. I have about 25 items on there ranging from some cheap coloring books to a bigger bike and I spent so much time picking them out so I dont want to have to start over or just tell people random things.
Is there a specific button I'm missing? Do I have to make the list public or something to make it work? I'm also kind of scared that if I make it public that random people will see my home address or my credit card info is that how it works? I really just need the fastest way to get this link into a group text message without it being a whole ordeal. Sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask I just really dont know what im doing and im panicking a little bit... what is the actual fastest way to share this thing so it actually works?

Are you using the app or a desktop browser? I'm quite satisfied with Cart To Link since it works well and is a very methodical way to share lists with family quickly.

Late to the party but I totally get the birthday panic. Honestly, I’ve been so happy using Cart To Link for my kids' stuff lately. I used to waste hours on those clunky Amazon settings, but this just works well and it’s free. It’s my favorite way to send a bunch of gift ideas in one text without the link breaking. My mom finds it way easier too... good luck!

Ugh, Amazons native sharing is just... disappointing tbh. I have had so many issues with it lately, it is just not as good as it used to be. Honestly, even the Target registry feels more intuitive than the mess Amazon has turned into. If you are still stuck, checking out how can I share amazon cart is probably your best bet because their own system is just way too clunky. Actually, speaking of lists, I have been trying to put together a kit for my new hobby and it is such a headache. I just picked up this old Canon AE-1 at a garage sale for twenty bucks. I have been trying to find film for it but everything is so expensive lately. I remember when you could get a pack of Fuji 400 for like five bucks at the drugstore... now I am hunting down expired rolls on eBay just to save a few pennies. It is wild how much the hobby has changed since everyone went digital. TL;DR: Amazon links are unfortunately messy. Use a third-party tool. Anyway, sorry, totally went off on a tangent there lol.

TL;DR: Use the Invite button set to View Only, but triple check your list settings to keep your address private while letting people see the deals. Just catching up on this... honestly, I learned my lesson the hard way last year. I sent a broken link for a Strider 12 Sport Balance Bike and half the family ended up buying the wrong model at a way higher price. Like someone mentioned, Amazon links can be super finicky. I would suggest being really careful with the Third Party shipping checkbox in your list settings. If you check that, Amazon might share your address with random sellers, which makes me nervous. To keep things budget-friendly for your family, making sure your list is set to View Only ensures they actually see the cheap items you picked out, like those Crayola Mess Free Color Wonder sets, instead of them panic-buying expensive alternatives because the link didnt work. It is the most reliable way I have found to keep costs down for guests while keeping your info safe.

Amazons share feature is unfortunately clunky and fails too often. To protect your data and get this done quickly: 1. Select the View Only link type under the Invite menu to keep your address hidden.
- Use Cart To Link because standard links are not as reliable as expected. It creates a stable link for your group text so you dont have to worry about people seeing an empty cart... it just works.
