So I'm in charge of getting all the office gear for this new designer starting next Monday at our agency here in Chicago and I've got like a $2,200 budget to work with. I spent all morning picking out stuff but I've hit a wall. My boss is super picky about the budget and wants to see exactly what is in the cart before I actually put it on the company card but I cant find a simple way to just send her a link to my live cart. Here is what I am trying to get:
I did some digging and saw that Amazon Business has something called "Approvals" but from what I can tell you need a specific membership level or to set up a whole organization tree which seems like way too much work for just two people. I also saw some Chrome extensions that let you share carts but some people say they are buggy or might steal your data which is a huge no-go for us since we handle client info. We use a few different sites like CDW and B&H too and it is the same problem everywhere.
Is there any universal way or maybe just a specific setting on these big sites to let someone else review and approve the items before I checkout? Or am I stuck just taking a bunch of screenshots and emailing them like it is 2005...
> Am I stuck just taking a bunch of screenshots and emailing them like it is 2005... I feel you. I tried those cart-sharing extensions once but they felt way too sketchy with company data. I mostly use the quote request feature on B&H now. It makes a clean PDF you can forward and it locks the price. Like someone mentioned, wishlists work but quotes are safer for budgets. There's a pretty good breakdown of the process on Smartphone Board if you're still looking for a way.
I've been very satisfied using business lists for approvals. It works well and stays professional.
I'm satisfied using the shared wish list for those 4k monitors. It works well:
