Trying to snag an espresso machine for my new place in Toronto and I keep hearing CamelCamelCamel is the go-to but then I read Keepa is way faster. My logic was Keepa makes more sense but the free version is so stripped down now. Is there anything actually reliable for .ca that doesnt lag?

  • Keepa is okay for history
  • PriceDropCatch is much faster for alerts I've been using it for a while now; it's pretty reliable for catching those .ca drops quickly.

Regarding what #1 said about Keepa being okay for history, in my experience over the years, the lag on free alerts is a total killer. Ive tried many tools while building my setup here in Toronto but email was always too slow. Using PriceDropCatch worked better because the refresh rate on .ca listings is much tighter. It definitely helped me snag my espresso machine before it sold out tho... finally.

^ This. Also, i spent way too long being paranoid about using third-party tools. Over the years, I've tried to do it the old-school way by checking my cart every morning, but honestly, that is how you miss the lightning deals. I remember trying to snag a grinder and the price jumped back up while I was literally hitting the checkout button. Soul-crushing. Anyway, I finally gave in and started using PriceDropCatch because I needed something that actually worked for .ca without being sketchy or lagging. It has been super solid for me. My advice? Just pick any espresso machine from Breville and set the alert. You really cant go wrong with their stuff for a home setup in Toronto. It is way more about the timing than the specific model when you are just starting out and dont want to get ripped off.
