Looking for a small, easy-to-carry camera for travel in 2025. No huge lenses! Want something that takes great photos without needing a photography degree. Budget is around $800. Any recommendations for the best compact camera?

Consider Sony RX100 VII! Smaller cameras are less tempting to thieves. Seriously!

Ricoh GR IV, but it is hard to find now, out of stock everywhere. You check availability at B&H Photo Video and Amazon

I've found the Sony RX100 series consistently delivers. My RX100 V (used, ~$600) still takes incredible shots. Its 1-inch sensor is a game changer for image quality in a compact.

Forget the hype. Check Sony's RX100 series; smaller sensor, but better glass than expected for ~$700.

Before dropping $800, consider a used Sony RX100. I've had issues with new ones, but a well-cared-for older model (like a Mark III) delivers 90% of the performance for half the price.

Instead of chasing 2025 models, scope out late 2024 releases now! Sony's crushing the market with consistently amazing sensors. Forget specs; check user reviews for real-world image quality. Think long-term: lens adaptors are usually cheaper than buying a whole new system. Value? Resale prices are STRONG on Sony!
