Honestly, if ur looking for professional-grade reliability on the FX3, you really should be taking advantage of the XLR top handle. I’m always pretty cautious about using 3.5mm jacks for anything serious since there prone to interference—wait no, I mean they're prone to it. For a true industry standard that's incredibly dependable, I'd highly recommend the Sennheiser+MKE+600&linkCode=osi&tag=5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Sennheiser MKE 600. It handles phantom power perfectly and sounds much cleaner than the consumer-grade stuff. If you want to keep the profile low, the Sony ECM-B1M is basically the best choice for the digital MI shoe. It bypasses the analog preamps altogether which reduces ur noise floor significantly. Some people prefer the analog control, but for a run-and-gun setup, that digital connection is rock solid. Just make sure ur using high-quality cables to maintain signal integrity.

So I've been using Rode VideoMic Pro+ with my Sony FX3 for a few months now (in 2025). To be honest, it's practical. not to mention perfect fit for Sony FX3. Very happy with the choice.
