Honestly, I've been digging through a bunch of community threads since I'm still basically a beginner, but I've noticed a few *budget* primes that get mentioned constantly for the A7 II. I'm a bit of a nerd for the technical specs even if I'm still learning how to use them all, you know? * Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 - This one is super affordable. It's really light, like 186g, which is great for carrying around all day. The f/1.8 aperture is solid for bokeh, though some people say the DC motor for autofocus is a bit slow compared to the pricier stuff?
* Samyang AF 35mm f/1.8 FE - From what I've read in the reviews, this is a huge favorite for value. It has a 9-blade diaphragm which is supposed to make the background blur look really smooth, plus it's got that custom switch for the focus ring. I mean, for the price of one GM lens, you could basically get both of these and still have money left for extra batteries, right? Do you think the 50mm is too narrow for general use? I'm still trying to figure out which focal length I actually prefer.
