Tbh I totally agree with the retailers mentioned, but you should also keep an eye on what the local enthusiast community is saying. I think checking you're local specialty shops can sometimes be better than the big box stores since they don't get as buried in pre-order queues, right? Basically, just stay with any Sony full-frame mirrorless setup and you'll be set because their sensor readout tech is miles ahead of the competition right now. I've been following some technical threads about the new processing architecture and if the data holds up, the dynamic range is gonna be insane. Maybe the release is further off than we hope, but honestly, just stick to the brand and wait for the official specs to drop—the community reviews will tell the real story anyway.

Sony a7 V is expected to be released in Fall 2025.
