Hey everyone! I'm finally looking to upgrade my camera and the Sony a6700 has really caught my eye. It seems like the perfect blend of features for what I do, but buying new is a bit out of my budget right now. I'm trying to be smart about this purchase and am wondering where you all have had good luck finding used Sony a6700 bodies? I'm looking for something in excellent condition, ideally with low shutter count if possible. Has anyone had positive experiences with specific online marketplaces or even local camera shops for this model? Any tips on spotting a good deal or avoiding duds would be super helpful!

Hello, you can check these used camera stores online.

  1. KEH

  2. MPB

  3. B&H Photo Video Used Store

  4. Adorama Used Store

  5. Amazon Warehouse Deals

  6. eBay

Basically, everyone has highlighted the big shops for safety, but if you're REALY on a budget, you might look at local peer-to-peer marketplaces to avoid the retailer markup. From a technical standpoint though, you gotta watch out for "fitment" and compatibility issues that could cost you more in the long run: * **Battery issues**: This body uses the Sony NP-FZ100. If you buy used and it comes with third-party batteries, they often trigger "Incompatible" warnings on the latest firmware. Try to find a deal that includes at least one original Sony cell to save yourself the headache.
* **Mount fitment**: Give the E-mount flange a quick check. Since it's a smaller body, if the previous owner used massive full-frame glass without proper support, it can sometimes develop a tiny bit of play.
* **Lens pairing**: To keep costs down, stick to APS-C specific glass like the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN. It fits the form factor way better than bulky FE lenses. Honestly, dont stress the shutter count SO much since mirrorless relies heavily on the electronic shutter anyway. Focus on the sensor condition and mount tightness instead!

Bought one at KEH last month, works well and no problems.

I totally agree with going peer-to-peer to save cash, but tbh the real secret is checking out dedicated Sony enthusiast groups and forums. In my experience, these niche communities are gold mines because the people there actually baby their gear way more than some random seller on a huge marketplace. I mean, when you buy from a general site, you never know if the owner actually knew how to clean a sensor or if they just tossed it in a bag lol. If you stick with any of the Sony-focused user groups, youre usually buying from someone who understands the tech and is happy to share the history. I have bought most of my kit this way over the years and it hasnt failed me yet. Just look for those communities where people actually post their photography—theyre much less likely to sell you a lemon since they have a reputation to keep up.

Hey there! I totally get wanting to snag a sweet deal on a new camera. Honestly, for high-value items like the a6700, I've always leaned towards reputable dealers that offer some kind of warranty, even on used gear. My go-to has been KEH Camera. They're meticulous about grading their equipment, and their 'EX' or 'EX+' condition items are usually pristine. Plus, they have a decent return policy, which gives me peace of mind. Definitely check them out.

Hey! Beyond the usual suspects, check out camera rental houses that sell off older inventory. You can often find heavily discounted gear with known usage history, and they're usually well-maintained. It's a decent option if you're willing to sift a bit.

Hey there! I totally get wanting to upgrade without breaking the bank. The a6700 is a beast, for sure. So, building on what the others said, while reputable dealers and rental houses are good bets, I'd also seriously consider dedicated used gear sites like KEH Camera or MPB. They usually have detailed condition ratings, and you can often find bodies with relatively low shutter counts for a noticeable discount compared to new.

When you're looking, really dig into the condition descriptions. 'Excellent' can mean different things, so look for specifics like 'minor cosmetic wear' vs. 'significant scratches.' And definitely check their return policies – a good window to test it out is crucial. I'd suggest setting up alerts on these sites for the a6700; that way, you're among the first to know when one pops up at a price that works for you. Good luck with the hunt!
