I've been logging way more miles lately since I started training for a local 10k in October and my old Brooks are basically falling apart at this point so I need new trainers fast. Ive been looking at the Nike Pegasus line since everyone says they're the gold standard for daily stuff but I'm really torn on the timing. Right now I can find the Pegasus 40 for like 90 bucks at some outlets but the new 41 is out and it looks way better even though its like $130 which is definitely over my budget of maybe 80 or 90 bucks tops. I'm basically stuck between grabbing the 40s now because I need them or holding out another month or two to see if the 41s drop in price during some random Fall sale or something. I honestly dont know when Nike usually does their biggest markdowns... is it right when the next model number drops or is there a specific month where everything goes on clearance? I'm trying to figure out if I should pull the trigger on the older ones today or if there's a better window coming up soon that I'm missing.

You should definitely grab the 40s today! First, $90 is an amazing price for that model. Second, the 41s wont drop under $100 for months. Since you need shoes now for that 10k, waiting for a sale is just gonna cause injuries. The 40 is a fantastic, reliable shoe and youll love it for those daily miles!

I totally get the struggle with timing these things! I used to be terrible at it until I realized Nike almost always does a massive clearance push right before the holidays. Honestly, I remember holding out forever on the one I got because I was determined not to pay full retail... it was so worth it! I ended up snagging mine for like 40% off during a random flash sale I didn't even see coming. Such a win! I basically live for that rush when you find a legit trainer for dirt cheap. If you're trying to hunt for that perfect price, definitely look into using PriceDropCatch. I use it all the time to track specific colors because sometimes the less popular ones get marked down way deeper. Just set an alert and wait... it saves so much stress compared to checking the store every day like a crazy person lol. Trust me, waiting for that price drop is a total game changer!
