been trying to grab a 4090 for my new build for like three weeks now and honestly im about to lose my mind with these out of stock buttons every single time i check best buy or amazon. im building this rig specifically for some heavy 4k video editing and flight sim stuff—msfs 2020 is basically unplayable on my old card—and i really need to get this thing ordered by the end of the month before i go on a trip. my budget is capped at about $1900 because i refuse to pay those insane scalper prices on ebay but it seems like every time i blink the msrp cards just vanish.
ive been looking into a few different ways to track stock because manually refreshing tabs while im at work just isnt working for me anymore. right now im torn between three main options:
the hotstock thing seems popular but they want like 11 bucks a month for the premium alerts and im not sure if the priority notifications are actually faster or just a gimmick to get my money. then there is distill which is a browser extension. it seems cool because it is free but i have to leave my pc running all day and night and im worried it might get my ip flagged or blocked for hitting the servers too often or just be too slow compared to a server-side bot.
i even tried setting up my phone for instant push notifications from twitter but i still feel like im a step behind the bots every single time a drop happens. i live in a mid-sized city so we dont even have a micro center nearby which sucks because i heard they actually have stock on shelves sometimes if you just walk in.
if you guys had to choose which one is actually the most reliable for getting a card at msrp? is the hotstock premium actually worth the price for a one-time purchase or should i just stick to the discord trackers and hope for the best...
Unfortunately, HotStock was kinda slower than I expected.
agreeing with the guys above, unfortunately tracking tools have gone downhill.
Unfortunately, Hotstock's been a total mess lately and Distill gets you shadowbanned.
