When do you expected DJI will release the Osmo Action 5 ?

Update: FCCID has just confirmed the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro ! & Release Date is on August 28th.

DJI has released new Action cameras on an annual cadence over the past few years:

DJI Action 2 - Release Date: October 27, 2021

DJI Action 3 - Release Date: September 14, 2022

DJI Action 4 - Release Date: August 2, 2023

Based on this pattern, we can predict that the DJI Action 5 will likely be released in the fall of 2024, approximately 12-14 months after the Action 4. The release dates have been getting slightly earlier each year:

Action 2 to Action 3 gap: 322 days

Action 3 to Action 4 gap: 322 days

If this trend continues, the Action 5 may come out in September or even late August of 2024. As the expected release window approaches, keep an eye out for rumors and leaks about the specs and features of DJI's next-generation action camera. DJI will likely aim to introduce compelling upgrades to keep their Action series competitive in the market.

@graham Price for Osmo Action 5 Pro could be a bit expensive.

@graham Delayed again, DJI NEO will be released on September 5, and Osmo Action 5 Pro still unknown yet.

DJI usually registers new products at FCC first: https://fccid.io/2ANDR , So you can bookmark this page to see any new products coming.

Since DJI OSMO Action 4 is released in September 2023, so we can expect that Action 5 will be released in Fall 2024.

Like someone mentioned, that August 28th date seems to be the one everyone is betting on. Over the years, I've seen DJI stick to these annual cycles pretty strictly, but I wouldn't be surprised if they staggered the Pro and standard models this time around to manage the stock better. In my experience, if you are specifically waiting for that rumored 1-inch sensor for low-light performance, you might actually be better off looking at the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo right now. I've used it extensively alongside my action cams, and while it's not as rugged, that 1-inch sensor is already a reality and the image quality is stunning for night shots. For those who definitely need the ruggedness of an action cam, I suggest picking up some high-quality storage ahead of time. I personally use the Samsung PRO Plus 256GB microSDXC because it handles the high bitrates of 4K/120fps without the overheating issues you get with cheaper cards. Honestly, even if the Action 5 drops next month, the DJI Osmo Action 4 Standard Combo is going to remain a top-tier choice for most people because it fixed so many of the focus issues we saw in the earlier versions. It handles heat better than any GoPro I've owned, too.

Any specs rumors about Osmo Action 5 ? Will it feature with a new 1 inch sensor ?

@butler If true, that would be a huge upgrade in image quality, especially in low light. A 1" sensor in an action cam would be game-changing.

DJI usually launch new Osmo Action camera ahead of GoPro. So I think this year in August or September .

Can_We_Game 02/07/2024 5:00 am

@GeometryGuru Yes, HERO 13 will be released around September 2024.
