Hey everyone! I recently grabbed the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and while the built-in audio is decent, I really want to level up my sound for outdoor vlogging, especially in windy conditions. I’m torn between getting a compact shotgun mic or sticking with a wireless setup like the Mic 2—any thoughts on what provides the cleanest signal? Also, I'm on the hunt for a slim, protective hardshell case that can actually fit the camera with the battery extension attached. Most of the ones I’ve seen online look either too flimsy or way too bulky for travel. Do you guys have any specific gear recommendations that fit a run-and-gun workflow?

In my experience, you dont always need to blow ur budget on first-party gear to get great results. For audio, it basically comes down to three paths: * **Option A:** Shotgun like the Rode VideoMicro II. Pros: No charging needed, natural sound. Cons: Bulky and needs a cold shoe mount.
* **Option B:** Wired lav like the Boya BY-M1 Lavalier Microphone. Pros: Dirt cheap ($15-20), cleanest signal. Cons: Cables are a total hassle for run-and-gun.
* **Option C:** Budget wireless like the Comica Vimo C3 Wireless Microphone System. Pros: Way cheaper than the Mic 2, great noise cancellation. Cons: Extra pieces to charge. **Best Choice:** Honestly, I'd go with Option C for vlogging. It’s the best value for windy conditions without breaking the bank. For the case, the TELESIN Mini Carrying Case for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is the most practical slim hardshell I've used. It actually fits the battery extension perfectly without being a total brick in ur bag. TL;DR: Grab the Comica wireless set for budget audio and the Telesin case for a slim travel setup. gl!

In my experience vlogging with the Pocket series since the first one came out, the audio setup is everything. If you're hitting windy streets, I'd highkey stick with the DJI Mic 2 Transmitter. It's just way easier for run-and-gun than messing with cables on a shotgun mic, and the 32-bit float internal recording is a lifesaver if your levels peak. Plus, the wind screen it comes with is decent enough, tho for realy heavy gusts, you might want a bigger deadcat. For your case dilemma, most are definately way too huge. Here's what I recommend for a slim setup: * Sunnylife Portable Carrying Case for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 – This one is super slim and fits the battery handle perfectly.
* Startrc Hard Shell Carrying Case for Pocket 3 – A bit more rugged if your throwing it in a packed bag. Basically, the Mic 2 is just too convenient to pass up imo, especially since it syncs right to the body. GL with the vlogs!
