What are the absolute must-have accessories for the Mini 4 Pro? I'm heading to Iceland in 6 days and my budget is like $150 max. I saw people recommending the wide angle lens but I heard it ruins the edges and I'm also torn on ND filters since I dont know if I need them for cloudy weather... any essentials I'm missing?

Ive flown for years and found that a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB V30 microSDXC is the only must. In cloudy Iceland, you dont really need expensive filters or lenses right now.

Stumbled on this today. > I saw people recommending the wide angle lens but I heard it ruins the edges and I'm also torn on ND filters Honestly, that wide lens is garbage for serious photos. The edge distortion is a mess and basically ruins the 4k quality you're paying for. If you're heading to Iceland, power management is your biggest hurdle. The charging speeds are unfortunately slow if you're just using a random phone brick. You really need the DJI 30W USB-C Charger to get back in the air quickly during road stops. Also, the standard shoulder bag is pretty disappointing for a rugged trip. It offers zero crush protection for the gimbal. I switched to the STARTRC Mini 4 Pro Waterproof Hard Carrying Case because it actually keeps the drone safe in a packed suitcase. If you have cash left, get another DJI Mini 4 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery. One battery in those high winds wont even last fifteen minutes... you'll regret it if you dont have a spare.

stumbled on this today... honestly its such a scam how these brands charge a fortune for tiny plastic bits. i remember my last trip where some must-have gear failed and almost crashed my rig. drives me crazy seeing people get ripped off. im happy keeping it simple because reliability is everything. are you flying near the coast or inland? salt spray and wind are a nightmare for safety.

I unfortunately had issues with my gimbal after landing on some gravel, it wasnt as tough as I expected. Are you mostly hiking or just flying near the car? If you're budget focused, skip the glass and get a PGYTECH Drone Landing Pad Pro. I found out the hard way that Iceland's dirt is basically magnetic and ruins motors. TL;DR: Buy a landing pad and extra DJI Mini 4 Pro Propellers for the wind.

^ This. Honestly, protecting the motors from debris is way more important than people realize. I learned that the hard way on a coastal trip last year where fine sand basically bricked my gimbal mid-flight.

  • My current setup uses a heavily weighted pad because the cheap ones just blow away in 20mph gusts, which is a constant in places like Iceland.
  • I compared a few third-party brands against the OEM stuff and noticed the material density varies quite a bit. The heavier ones stay flat on uneven moss or basalt.
  • The motor current draw can spike if even a tiny bit of silt gets into the bearings, which basically kills your flight time and stresses the ESCs. I brought a standard generic kit once and the salt spray combined with fine volcanic dust was a nightmare. The tolerances on these minis are so tight that even a few microns of grit can cause a motor overload warning. Definitely prioritize physical protection over fancy glass filters given your specific environment.
