Honestly I am so fed up with this flimsy little carrying case that came with the DJI Avata 2 Fly More combo like what was dji even thinking?? I spent nearly $1,300 on this setup and they give me a bag that feels thinner than my middle school lunch box. I was out hiking near Olympic National Park last weekend and my pack shifted in the trunk of my car and I heard this horrible crunching sound and my heart just stopped. Luckily it was just the prop guards rubbing against the side of the bag but it could have been so much worse.

The padding is basically nonexistent and everything just rattles around in there like loose change. I need something that can actually take a hit and keep the drone, the goggles, and the controller from smashing into each other every time I hit a pothole. I'm looking for a hard shell case that's actually waterproof because it rains literally every day here in Washington and I'm tired of worrying about moisture seeping through the zippers of this cheap nylon bag.

I've seen some on Amazon like the GPC or the Nanuk ones but I dont know if they're actually worth the extra bulk or if they're just overpriced plastic boxes. My budget is probably around $120 maybe $150 if it's really indestructible because I cant afford to replace a gimbal just because I bought a cheap case. I need something with:

  • cutouts that actually fit the Avata 2 snugly
  • space for at least 3 or 4 batteries
  • a real pressure valve for when I fly
  • enough room for the Goggles 3 and the Motion Controller without jamming them in

I've got a trip coming up in three weeks to the coast and I am NOT taking this thing out in that original soft bag again. Its just not worth the anxiety of thinking my gear is getting trashed while I'm driving to the trailhead. Does anyone have a recommendation for the absolute toughest, most crush-proof case out there for the Avata 2 right now?

Man I feel your pain! That stock bag is a total joke for anyone who actually goes outside. I remember taking my first DJI rig to a muddy trail in Oregon and the bag just soaked right through... my heart literally skipped a beat seeing the moisture on the goggles. You gotta go hard shell or you're gonna regret it. I've put a few to the test and these are the real deal:

  • Nanuk 915 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Avata 2: This is the gold standard honestly. The PowerClaw latches are amazing and it is 100% waterproof. I've literally dropped mine in a creek and everything stayed bone dry!
  • GPC DJI Avata 2 Fly More Hard Case: These guys use custom foam that fits the drone perfectly. It feels super premium and the pressure valve is top notch for when you're traveling. Seriously go with the Nanuk if you want that absolute peace of mind. It's a bit heavier but its basically indestructible! Love mine to death.

Quick reply since I just went through this same search last month. I've been flying drones for about six years now and honestly, moving to a hard case is the best insurance you can buy for your gear. Before I give a full recommendation tho, are you planning on sticking with just the Motion Controller 3, or do you use the full-sized FPV Remote Controller 2 as well? The foam layouts differ quite a bit for those two. I've been very satisfied with the Lykus Titan MA210 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Avata 2. It's built like a tank and fits the batteries perfectly without them sliding around like in that stock bag. It has a legit IP67 rating which is a must for Washington weather. I've had zero complaints with the pressure valve on long drives through the mountains. It's usually under $100 too, so it fits your budget nicely.

Generic cases weren't as good as expected and leaked on me.
