I finally got my hands on the Pocket 3 and im so stoked to use it for my trip to Greece next Tuesday but ugh im honestly fed up with my old footage looking like a jittery mess because the shutter speed is always way too high in the sun. I really dont want to ruin these vacation videos with blown out sky and that weird choppy movement again. I have about 60 bucks left in my budget and need to order something by Friday so they get here in time. Ive been looking at:
Its just so overwhelming trying to figure out which ones actually stay on the magnet properly without falling off. Which ND filters are best for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3?
^ This. Also, I actually found the PGYTECH ones are even better than Freewell for security! I was so scared of losing a filter, but the magnets on these are incredible. They stay on even when the gimbal does its little dance at startup!
tbh I went through this exact same thing last month. If you're heading to Greece, that sun is gonna be brutal.
Unfortunately, many magnetic filters are not as good as expected for long-term reliability. I had issues with cheaper sets falling off during high-speed pans, but the K&F Concept DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Nano-X ND Filter 4-Pack is much safer for your budget.
Honestly its ridiculous how we have to deal with inconsistent magnetic flux and subpar mounting tolerances on such expensive gear! It drives me crazy that after dropping so much money on a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 we are left gambling with filters that might just fly off into the dirt. @Reply #3 - good point! The physics of magnetic retention vs gimbal torque is something these manufacturers seem to ignore entirely. It is such a scam that we have to worry about our gimbal motors being strained or glass falling off during a simple pan! The quality control is going downhill so fast while prices keep climbing. I love the tech but hate the anxiety of these mediocre magnets. It is absolutely fantastic hardware ruined by third-party companies that just dont care about reliability anymore!
