Which ND filters work best for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3?

Ive been shooting on the original Pocket and the 2 for years so I'm pretty used to how these gimbals handle light but this Pocket 3 is a different beast with that 1 inch sensor. I'm heading to Greece next month for a travel project and I'm worried about the sun blowing out my highlights since I need to stick to the 180 degree shutter rule.

I have a 100 buck budget and I'm looking at these:

  • Freewell mega pack
  • K&F Concept

Ive heard some third party magnets are weak or mess with the gimbal calibration on startup which is a huge pain. Which ND filters are you guys using that actually stay on and dont cause motor errors?

Late to the party but unfortunately my experience with the K&F Concept DJI Osmo Pocket 3 ND Filter Set was pretty disappointing. Magnets werent strong enough for fast pans and I kept getting motor overload warnings. The 1-inch sensor's gimbal is extremely sensitive to weight distribution. I eventually moved to the Freewell DJI Osmo Pocket 3 ND Filters All Day 8-Pack because they're precisely weighted. TL;DR: Skip K&F; Freewell stays on better and wont cause motor errors.

Unfortunately, I had issues with the Freewell DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Mega Pack 14-Pack because it felt like a total cash grab. Most of those filters just collect dust in my drawer. Not as good as expected for the price tbh.

I took my Pocket 3 to a music festival recently and man, the quality is just amazing! I used to have the 2 and this is such an upgrade. I totally get the magnet anxiety tho, I had a cheap one pop off mid-run once. Before I suggest a set, are you mostly shooting in that bright midday Greek sun, or do you need something for sunset too?

stumbled on this a bit late but seriously be careful with those budget magnets. the pocket 3 gimbal is way more finicky than the older versions and i've seen guys get those motor overload warnings just from slightly off-center glass. since youre going to greece the light is gonna be intense so you definitely need something reliable that wont fly off if you do a quick pan. quick question tho... are you looking for just standard nd filters or do you need polarizers too for all that blue water? also are you planning on doing any high-speed stuff like from a car or boat? that makes a huge difference in whether you need the heavy duty magnets or if you should prioritize something super lightweight to keep the gimbal happy. better to double check now than have your gimbal freak out in the middle of a shoot.
