What are the absolute must-have accessories for the DJI Mini 4 Pro because honestly im kinda panicking over here. I just bought it for my trip to the Swiss Alps next Tuesday and I realized I have basically nothing but the drone and the remote. Im so worried about the wind or the battery dying in the middle of a shot and I only have about 200 bucks left in my budget for extras. Do I need filters or those landing gear things? I keep reading different stuff online and it is making me so anxious that im gonna mess up my expensive gear on the first day.

  • extra batteries
  • landing pads
  • nd filters

Help me out before I lose my mind...

I totally get the pre-trip anxiety... the Swiss Alps are a dream but definitely intimidating for a first flight. My experience with the current setup has been great and I have been very satisfied with how it handles in the wind. Since you are on a strict 200 dollar budget, I suggest focusing entirely on safety and image quality rather than gadgets like landing gear which can actually make the drone catch more wind and cause instability.

  • Purchase a DJI Mini 4 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery Plus to manage the power drain. High altitude cold will deplete your cells way faster than expected. Having that extra flight time provides a necessary safety buffer so you are not forced into an emergency landing over a valley. No complaints with the performance so far.
  • Invest in a quality filter set. I use the Freewell All Day 6-Pack ND Filters for DJI Mini 4 Pro and they work well for the high-glare snowy conditions you will encounter. Without these, the reflection from the peaks will likely overexpose your sensor and ruin the shots.
  • Ensure you have a reliable storage solution. I use the Samsung EVO Plus 256GB microSDXC V30 and it has never failed during 4K recording. Honestly dont overcomplicate the gear list. Just prioritize the power and the light control and youll be fine. The landing pads are basically unnecessary weight for a backpacking trip anyway. Stick to the essentials and focus on flying safely.

Unfortunately, I had some issues with generic gear recently and it was not as good as expected. Those landing legs just make the drone catch the wind more, which is risky in the Alps. Stick to basics.

  • You cant go wrong with any storage case from Tomtoc Case
  • Just get a fast card from SanDisk Memory Card Honestly, dont waste money on gimmicks. Safety and storage are what matter most for a big trip.

Quickly hopping in here... I definitely agree about skipping those landing extensions. I once saw a drone get flipped by a sudden mountain gust because of the extra drag, which caused a massive IMU error. Honestly its super risky. One small thing though:

  • Use a portable landing pad.
  • It stops fine snow from clogging the downward vision sensors or gimbal during takeoff.
