Finally made the jump to the X-Pro3 after years on the T series but honestly my current gear feels all wrong now. The X-T3 lived in a big backpack but this thing is so much smaller and I want to keep it that way for my Tokyo trip next month. I need a new tripod and bag setup that actually fits the vibe.

  • budget is around 400 total
  • bag needs to be a sling that doesnt scream camera bag
  • tripod must be light enough for 5 miles of walking but steady for long exposures

Found that my old Manfrotto is just overkill and wonky to carry with this body... what are you guys using for a minimal X-Pro setup?

Quick question tho - are you rocking f/2 fujicrons or heavy f/1.4 glass? Makes a big diff for weight distribution. I am happy with Peak Design Everyday Sling 6L for its specs, but Bellroy Venture Sling 6L is more discreet. For legs, Leofoto MT-03 Spider Tripod is tiny, while Peak Design Travel Tripod Aluminum is steadier for long exposures.

@Reply #1 - good point! lens weight totally changes the center of gravity. Ive tried many setups over the years and these two slings are my go-tos for stealth:

Popping in a day late, but how tall do you actually need the tripod? Just watch out for those skinny legs... they'll vibrate during long exposures. Can help narrow it down later!
