I just finally pulled the trigger on a Lumix S5II and I’m absolutely loving the new phase hybrid autofocus! Since I'm planning to use it for a mix of wedding videography and some travel photography, I want to make sure I’m geared up properly from day one. I’ve already looked into a basic SmallRig cage, but I’m curious about what else is truly essential. Should I prioritize extra BLK22 batteries, or is a PD power bank a better move for long video sets? Also, are there specific UHS-II cards you’ve found most reliable for that 6K open gate recording? I'm trying to avoid buyer's remorse, so what are the top three accessories you can't live without for your S5II?

+1 to what was said earlier! Basically, ur choosing between portability and stamina. Extra Panasonic DMW-BLK22 Lithium-Ion Battery units are easier for travel, but a SmallRig VB99 Pro Mini V Mount Battery is better for weddings... it keeps u powered all day via USB-C PD. For that 6K open gate, I'd go with Lexar 128GB Professional 2000x SDXC UHS-II Card V90. TL;DR: PD Power > Batteries for long sets. V90 cards are a MUST for 6K!!

In my experience, I've spent way too much on gear that didn't live up to the hype, so I totally get the buyer's remorse thing. Honestly, I had issues with the official batteries dying mid-set... super frustrating. Since ur doing weddings, I highkey recommend a Baseus 65W 20000mAh Power Bank Adaman instead of a stack of spares. It’s like $50 and keeps u powered all day via USB-C PD. For storage, V90 cards are literally so expensive!! I found that the Angelbird AV PRO SD MK2 V60 256GB works perfectly for 6K open gate and it’s way easier on the wallet, usually around $70. Lastly, please get a ULBTER Screen Protector for Lumix S5II. I scratched my screen on day one and it was honestly heartbreaking... it’s a cheap $10 fix to save ur sanity. Good luck!

> Should I prioritize extra BLK22 batteries, or is a PD power bank a better move? tbh I agree power is vital, but external banks can spike and fry circuits. Official batteries are way SAFER for your cameras long-term health, right?
