So I finally bit the bullet on an M11 and now I'm lowkey panicking about scratching the bottom plate already. I have a trip to Italy coming up in two weeks and I need something fast. I've been looking at the Arte di Mano half cases because they look incredible but the lead time is stressing me out and I don't think they'll get here in time.
My other options are the Oberwerth or the official Leica leather protector. The Leica one is cheaper but I've heard mixed things about the leather quality. Does the Oberwerth offer better impact protection for the corners? Or is there another brand I'm missing that ships fast to the US and stays under $250?

Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly, I've gone through way too many cases...", I totally feel that. Unfortunately, I had issues with those big brands being way too thin for actual protection. They're just not as good as expected for the price. Just grab the Kaza Deluxe Leica M11 Half Case. Its more rugged and usually ships fast. You dont want to overpay for a name... ngl, the official stuff is a ripoff.

Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly, I've gone through way too many cases...", i kinda disagree that price equals protection. If you need something for Italy in two weeks, dont overthink the brand. I've found cheap ones protect just as well for way less money.

Unfortunately, most ready-made options are not as good as expected regarding durability. I've had issues with corner coverage.

Honestly, I've gone through way too many cases and unfortunately most of the big names are pretty disappointing for what you pay. I had issues with the official Leica protector because the leather felt thin and cheap. Not as good as expected for that kind of money. Especially for an M11. Since you need it fast and want to stay under $250, check these out:
- Vi Vante Leather Half Case for Leica M11 which is usually in stock and ships quick.
- TP Original Leather Half Case Leica M11 which is a great budget pick for corner protection. Ngl the official Leica M11 Leather Protector Black is just not worth it... it just doesnt age well. You'll be totally fine with a cheaper option while you wait for the fancy stuff later. Have a blast in Italy. The M11 is a beast.
