So I finally pulled the trigger on a black M11 after saving up for literally two years and now I'm absolutely terrified of scratching the finish or the bottom plate. Its so pretty but I feel like I cant even put it down on a cafe table without obsessing over it. I've been scouring the forums and I keep seeing the Arte di Mano cases mentioned as the gold standard but honestly their website is a bit confusing and I heard the lead times are crazy right now, like several weeks or months?? I'm leaving for a trip to Tokyo in three weeks so I need something fast. I also looked at those Luigi cases from Italy but his website looks like it hasn't been updated since 1998 and I'm worried about getting hit with huge customs fees if I order from him directly to New York. Plus some people say the leather is too thick and makes the buttons hard to reach? I just want something that fits like a glove but still lets me access the battery/USB-C port without taking the whole thing off every single time because that seems like a huge pain. Is there a middle ground that actually looks premium but doesn't take three months to ship? Maybe something from Oberwerth or even the official Leica one? I heard the official one is kind of flimsy though... what are you guys actually using day to day?

Honestly, just grab the Oberwerth Half Case for Leica M11 with Battery Access. The fit is precision-engineered and the bottom hatch makes battery swaps fast. Its usually pretty quick shipping too.

I used a Luigi case on my M9 for years, but the thickness eventually bothered me. For the M11, I looked for something more precise. Here are two solid options that dont take months to arrive:

I spent ages looking at the technical specs of these cases because the tolerances on the M11 are just so tight! Honestly, the black finish is kinda delicate and I was terrified of a tiny piece of sand getting caught inside the leather. My first trip out with it was a total stress-fest until I got a proper case with real shock absorption and a rigid frame... Just go with anything from Artisan and Artist Leather Half Case or even the official Leica Camera Leather Protector. You really cant go wrong with the engineering there!

  • The impact resistance is incredible
  • Leather quality is top-tier for grip
  • Precision fit feels amazing I love how secure it feels now! Having that technical layer of protection is such a game changer for my peace of mind. You are gonna have a fantastic time in Tokyo with it!

^ This. Also, Ive been struggling with this exact same problem for weeks. Its honestly ridiculous how expensive and slow these cases are to ship. Im still looking tho...
