Ive been shooting MFT primes for years but Im heading to the Rockies next month and realized I need some versatile reach. My budget is super tight right now, maybe 300 bucks max. I usually stick to my 25mm but I need something that wont kill my back on trails. What are the best budget zoom lenses that dont totally sacrifice sharpness?

If you want serious reach without the weight, check these out:
- Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 II: In my experience, that 600mm equivalent reach is essential for distant wildlife. Its surprisingly light for the specs.
- Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f/4.0-5.6 II: This covers everything from landscape to telephoto in one lens. its weather-sealed too, perfect for mountain storms. Snagging these used will keep you under budget.

You should make sure to check if you need lens stabilization or if your sensor handles it. For a tight budget, the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 R is super light for hiking, but be careful with that plastic mount. Maybe look at the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150mm f/4.0-5.6 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. too if you need internal stabilization.
