Has anyone seen good Nikon Z30 Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2025 deals yet? I’m looking to upgrade from my entry-level DSLR to a mirrorless setup mainly for travel and YouTube content. Ideally I want the Nikon Z30 with the 16-50mm kit lens, maybe bundled with a mic or extra battery. Are there historically better discounts on Black Friday or Cyber Monday for this camera? Any stores or online retailers you recommend watching?

Honestly the way camera prices are going these days is just a total scam and it drives me crazy! I've been a Nikon fan for years and love the gear so much, but the cost of entry for new creators is getting ridiculous.

  • Sales that are just the regular price from six months ago
  • Paying extra for basic stuff like a battery that should be in the box
  • Companies acting like they're doing us a favor with tiny discounts
  • Cheap plastic builds on gear that costs a fortune Its honestly such a headache trying to navigate this stuff without feeling like you're being ripped off at every turn... just want to get out and shoot without the corporate greed getting in the way! Hopefully the Nikon Z30 actually gets a real price cut for once because we all deserve a break from these prices!

Hey there! 👋 I totally get wanting to plan way ahead for a big tech purchase like a new camera, especially for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. It's smart thinking! While Reply #1 makes a good point about the Z30's lifecycle by 2025, I think it's also worth looking at this from a few different angles, especially considering the tech landscape shifts pretty fast.

From a more technical perspective, when you're thinking about waiting until BF/CM 2025, you're essentially looking at three main scenarios for getting a Z30 with the 16-50mm kit:

**Option 1: The Z30 (as it is now) on Sale.**
* **Pros:** By 2025, the Z30 will be a few years old. This *definitely* means there's a good chance for significant discounts, possibly even clearance-level pricing, which sounds like what you're hoping for! It's a decent option, especially if you're looking for value. It's still super compact and video-friendly, with decent 4K (though it has a crop, which you might want to be aware of for wider shots) and a good mic input. For casual vlogging and travel, it works.
* **Cons:** The flip side is, will it still be widely available *new*? Sometimes, older models get phased out, and stock can become unpredictable. You might end up scrambling to find one, or only find it from third-party sellers without manufacturer warranties. Also, tech-wise, it'll be a few generations behind newer releases.

**Option 2: A Potential Z30 II or other Nikon Z APS-C Update.**
* **Pros:** Honestly, by 2025, it's not unreasonable to expect Nikon to have updated their entry-level mirrorless lineup, maybe a Z30 II or a Z50 II, or even something else entirely. If a newer model is out, it would likely have improved autofocus, potentially better low-light performance, less 4K crop, or even an EVF (which the current Z30 lacks, and can be a big deal for photography in bright sun!). While not as cheap as a clearance Z30, a newer model would offer better future-proofing.
* **Cons:** A brand-new model won't see massive BF/CM discounts in its first year, usually just modest bundles. So, you'd likely pay more than for an older Z30 deal.

**Option 3: Exploring Competitors' Offerings by 2025.**
* **Pros:** This is where it gets interesting. By 2025, cameras like the Sony ZV-E10 (if it's still current or has a successor) or Canon's R50/R10 will have been out for a while. These brands are *constantly* innovating, especially in the compact, vlogging-focused space. You might find a competitor offering a camera with features you value even more (e.g., better subject tracking, more robust video codecs) at a really competitive price during sales events. It depends on your needs, but sometimes straying from a brand can open up some surprisingly good deals and features.
* **Cons:** Switching ecosystems means new lenses and a new system to learn, which can be a hassle if you're already leaning Nikon.

So, my take? If your heart is absolutely set on the *current* Z30, waiting for BF/CM 2025 is a solid bet for a low price, but you might face stock issues. I think you'll definitely see *some* kind of deal, but perhaps not as widely available as you'd hope for new stock. However, I'd seriously keep an eye on what Nikon releases in the next year or so. A Z30 successor, or even a Z50/Zfc deal, might offer a better balance of price and updated tech by then. Personally, I'd probably lean towards waiting for potential newer tech or being open to a competitor if the Z30 deals aren't as strong or as widely available as you'd like. Hope this helps you strategize!

Well, while waiting until Black Friday 2025 for the Z30 is a sound plan, I would strongly suggest a broader market analysis. Be careful not to overlook how aggressive pricing strategies from competitors like Sony or Canon in the APS-C mirrorless segment could influence Nikon's offerings. It's crucial to track industry trends; a strong push from another brand might actually yield more significant value or force Nikon to deep discount. Make sure to compare the complete landscape.
