I recently picked up the Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S, and I’m absolutely blown away by the sharpness. Since it’s a significant investment with that large 82mm filter thread, I want to protect the glass without compromising the S-line image quality. I mainly shoot landscapes and outdoor events, so a high-quality CPL is definitely on my list, but I’m torn on whether a permanent UV protector is worth it or if it might cause ghosting. I’m also looking at ND filters for some long exposure work. For those of you using this specific lens, what are your must-have filters that won't degrade the performance?

yo! honestly i’m still kinda new to this but i’ve been obsessed with the specs lately!! since you want to keep that S-line sharpness, check out the Hoya 82mm HD3 UV Filter. it’s super tough glass with crazy high light transmission so it won't mess with your image quality at all! for your landscapes, the Breakthrough Photography 82mm X4 CPL is basically the best for avoiding color shifts. definitely a mood for that lens... gl!!

Ok so, for that S-line glass, I've tested the Nikon 82mm Arcrest Protection Filter vs the B+W 82mm 010 UV-Haze MRC Nano. The B+W is solid, but the Arcrest is basically invisible with zero ghosting—definitely worth the extra cash. For landscapes, I lowkey love the PolarPro 82mm QuartzLine ND64/PL because it combines an ND and CPL into one. Seriously, less glass stacking means better sharpness... hope that helps!

TL;DR: need a price range. Quick question - what's ur budget? Unfortunately I've had issues with overpriced glass... honestly just go with Hoya.
