Are there any reliable alternatives to camelcamelcamel for non-Amazon stores?

Ive been using camelcamelcamel since like 2012 back when it was basically the only way to not get ripped off on lightning deals. Im pretty savvy with checking price history and using browser extensions but ive hit a weird wall lately. I'm currently trying to put together a home server build, mostly looking at some high capacity ironwolf drives and a specific rack mount chassis, but amazon's prices are honestly all over the place and usually way higher than specialty shops right now.

I need to track history for a few specific sites:

  • b&h photo
  • newegg
  • microcenter

I live near the microcenter in north jersey so I go there a lot but camel obviously doesnt touch those stores. I tried honey but the droplist feature is super buggy and doesnt give me that nice granular graph view i need to see the actual price trends over the last six months. I want to know if I'm buying at an all time low or if the price is just inflated before a fake sale next week. Is there anything out there that handles non-amazon stores with the same level of data reliability? Im looking to spend about $1200 on parts over the next three weeks so I really need to get the timing right...

@Reply #1 - good point! I think PCPartPicker is basically the only reliable way to track B&H and Newegg prices, but even then, be careful with the Microcenter data. IIRC they mostly track online prices, not those local North Jersey deals. Not sure if there is anything better tbh, but I would suggest double checking the price history before dropping $1200. Just dont trust every random extension you find.

Honestly, tracking non-Amazon stuff is a total minefield and you have to be really careful. Most tools only scrape data once a day, which is useless for quick flash sales at B&H or Newegg. I would suggest being wary of browser extensions that ask for too many permissions, since they basically just harvest your browsing data. Newegg is especially tricky because marketplace sellers often inflate prices right before a big promo, so you need a tracker that actually catches the historical dips. Found this site PriceDropCatch a while back and its been great for catching those random 24-hour sales on specialized gear. It has been way more reliable for me than Honey ever was. Just make sure to double-check Microcenter specifically because their in-store only deals sometimes dont sync perfectly with online trackers. You might want to call the Jersey shop before driving over just to be safe.
