Which price tracking extension is most reliable for Amazon deals?

So I am finally moving into my own apartment in Chicago next month and I am trying to piece together a decent home office setup on a pretty tight budget. I have about 600 dollars total for a monitor, a chair, and maybe a decent mechanical keyboard if I can find a deal. Every cent counts right now so I have been obsessing over price history graphs.

I did some digging and it seems like everyone points to CamelCamelCamel as the go-to, but honestly the interface looks like it hasnt been updated since the early 2000s and I am worried about how fast it actually refreshes. I read some older threads saying it misses the really short-lived Lightning Deals which is exactly what I am trying to catch for things like the Logitech MX Master mouse or those LG UltraWide monitors. My logic was that a tracker should be basically real-time but some people are saying Camel can lag by a few hours which is basically an eternity when a sale is on.

Then I found Keepa and installed the extension. It looks way more detailed but then I realized a ton of the features are locked behind a monthly sub now? I am already on a budget so paying for a subscription to save money feels kinda counter-productive lol. Plus the graphs are super cluttered and I cant tell if I am looking at the warehouse deals or the new price half the time.

I also saw someone mention Honey but I always thought that was just for coupons? Does it actually do price tracking as well as the specialized ones? I am just confused because some reviewers say Keepa is the only one that is truly accurate for third-party sellers while others swear by Camel for simplicity. I am just trying to make sure I dont buy a monitor today for 300 only to see it drop to 220 tomorrow because I used a crappy extension.

Does anyone actually pay for the premium features on these things or is there a better free one I should be looking at? Just trying to figure out which one is the most reliable for those fast-moving Amazon sales...

Re: "You are totally right about Keepa! The data..."

  • Keepa is king for API speed.
  • Are you hunting New or Warehouse stock? Try an Amazon price tracker for solid reliability... it works.

I agree Keepa has the speed, but honestly you should be cautious with how much data it throws at you. I would suggest looking at this site if you want a more methodical way to track those LG monitors without the subscription clutter. Make sure to verify if the alert includes shipping because it usually doesnt. Those lightning deals vanish fast, so stay careful.

You are totally right about Keepa! The data density is absolutely amazing if youre a spec nerd like me. Seriously, the free version still gives you the basic New and Amazon price history which is usually enough to spot those patterns. Camel is okay but yeah, the refresh rate can be a total nightmare for fast-moving LG UltraWide sales! Ive caught some incredible deals by just watching the Keepa charts like a hawk. Even without the sub, you can see the price fluctuations clearly enough to know if youre getting ripped off or not. For that MX Master mouse, definitely wait for those sub-$80 dips! Honestly, dont worry about the cluttered look, youll get used to it and then youll never go back to anything else. I usually just throw things into PriceDropCatch and wait for the price drop alert before I actually pull the trigger on a purchase.
