Looking for camera recommendations for wedding videography. So many options! Budget is around $3000. What's the best all-around camera for video at that price?
Hey! I've been using a Panasonic GH5 for video for five years now. It's a workhorse. Picture quality is great. Be careful buying used; check the shutter count. I would suggest budgeting for good audio, though. The built-in mic isn't ideal. Might want to consider that.
Forget 'best,' aim for reliable. For weddings, internal recording codec matters. In my experience, Sony's color science is great, but consider bitrate. $3000 gets you close to an FX3 body – superb low light, but factor in lenses. Over the years, I've learned good audio trumps perfect video. Invest there too!
Panasonic GH5 Mark II! Market says reliable, fantastic value. Consider used for around $1500!
Instead of blowing the whole budget on a single body, consider a used Sony a6000 series. They're solid. Then, invest in good glass and audio. Trust me, audio is key! My buddy did this years ago and his videos still look great. You can always upgrade the body later. Good luck!
Weddings are hectic! Consider Sony a7S III. Be careful with slippery dance floors; stabilization is key. Make sure your batteries are secure – dropping one could be a disaster!
Panasonic GH5. Consider used; durability's excellent. Check sensor hours before buying.
Hey! For humid Florida weddings, overheating is REAL. Forget full-frame, get a Sony a6700. Internal ND filters are AMAZING in that harsh sun! Cheaper than your budget, leaving room for killer audio gear. You'll thank me later when your camera doesn't melt down!
DIY weddings are tough! Sony a6400 is okay, but honestly? Professionals are worth it, unfortunately.
