Hey everyone! Super early, I know, but I'm already thinking about Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals for camera flashes in 2025. I'm hoping to upgrade my current speedlight – it's okay, but the recycle time is killing me when I'm shooting events. Specifically, I'm looking for something with faster recycle times and better power output, ideally compatible with my Canon system. Anyone have any insights from past years on which brands or specific models tend to have the biggest discounts? Or, realistically, when should I *actually* start paying attention to leaks and rumors? Any advice to help me snag a great deal next year would be awesome!
Exactly what I was thinking
Same setup here, love it
Hey there!
I totally get the frustration with slow recycle times – I've been there! Honestly, I upgraded my flash a few years back specifically for that reason, and it made a HUGE difference. I've been happy with Godox flashes and I actually ended up going with the Godox V860III-C for my Canon system.
I've had absolutely no complaints. It recycles super fast, even at higher power settings. Plus, the battery life is impressive. I've used it for events, portraits, you name it. For Black Friday, Godox products usually have pretty decent discounts. Start watching Adorama and B&H Photo Video around early November. That said, don't wait too long, because the popular models can sell out fast.
Hope this helps and good luck snagging a great deal!
Hey! While a battery pack is a good shout, and upgrading *is* tempting, have you considered renting a higher-end flash for specific events? It can be way cheaper than buying, especially if you only need the extra power occasionally. I've done this a few times for weddings, and it's saved me a ton of cash. Then you're not stuck with a flash you don't *always* need! Check out local camera shops or online rental services... could be worth a look!
Hey! Instead of a new flash, have you considered a high-voltage battery pack for faster recycle times? Significantly cheaper than a new flash, and it's worked wonders for my Canon speedlight. Just a thought!
Hey! So, everyone's given some good points about alternatives and things, but I wanted to chime in with something maybe a little different... safety! When you're looking at flashes with faster recycle times and higher power, definitely pay attention to the voltage and how well they're built. I think some of the cheaper, off-brand flashes might not have the best quality control, and honestly, I'd be a little worried about them overheating or even causing electrical issues with your camera. I haven't personally had a problem, but I've read some scary stories online. Maybe sticking with reputable brands like Canon or Godox, even if they cost a bit more, is worth it for the peace of mind? Also, always check the battery door and make sure it's secure. A loose connection can be a real pain (and potentially dangerous, I guess!). I'm not an expert or anything, but yeah, just something to keep in mind while hunting for those deals next year! Hope this helps!
