How can I send my Target registry to friends and family?

Baby shower is in two weeks and I'm so stressed. I saw the share button in the app but some posts say it just sends people to the main site? My grandma is terrible with tech and I need:

  • a direct link
  • something easy for seniors
  • no login required

How do I send this properly...

Over the years, I've learned to text the link to myself first just to be safe.

  • Check the mobile view
  • Watch for free shipping Avoids tech fails and saves grandma money too.

I think copying the URL from your laptop is amazing! It’s super easy for seniors:

  • No login
  • Direct link Pretty sure it works every time! You’ve got this!

I spent way too much time debugging this for my sister last year and honestly, Targets native sharing is pretty disappointing from a technical standpoint. Those app links are filled with session tokens and tracking parameters that expire or freak out if the person doesnt have the app installed. Its a total mess for seniors. I tried helping my aunt and she kept getting looped back to the sign-in page. Frustrating stuff. Here is what I found actually works if you want reliability:

  • Stop using the share icon in the app. It generates dynamic links that are way too fragile.
  • Open your registry on a desktop browser, but do it in an Incognito window. If you can see it there without logging in, then copy that specific URL from the address bar.
  • If Target keeps acting up, I switched over to Babylist Universal Gift Registry for the heavy lifting. Their redirect logic is much more robust for mobile users who dont want to log in.
  • Another option if you want to keep the Target list is MyRegistry.com Gift List Hub. It syncs the items but uses a much cleaner interface for the buyer. Ngl its kinda ridiculous that we have to do extra work just to share a simple link, but the backend redirects on the Target site are just... not great right now. Checking it on a device with zero cookies is the only way to be 100 percent sure grandma wont hit a wall...

Regarding what #1 said about copying the URL from your laptop, it really is the most reliable way to avoid app glitches. The app share button often uses deep links that force logins, which is a nightmare for seniors. Just double check your registry is set to public in the settings so they dont hit a wall. You should check out Share Product, it lets you pull items from like 50 different stores into one link.
