Does anyone have a better way to do a housewarming registry because I am honestly about to lose it with these traditional sites and their glitchy interfaces. I've been trying to set something up for our new place in downtown Chicago for the last three days and every single time I try to add a custom link from this cute local ceramic shop I love the whole page just crashes or tells me the URL isnt valid which is just ridiculous because it works fine in my browser.
Im getting so anxious about this because the housewarming is literally scheduled for October 12th and my mother in law is texting me every single hour asking where the link is so she can buy us a blender or whatever but I dont even have a blender picked out yet because I cant find a tool that actually works for everything I want. I tried using the one built into a big retail site but it feels so corporate and gross and I really want to support some smaller makers too plus I hate that you cant see things from different stores in one list without it looking like a total mess.
Is there an app or a website that actually lets you pull from anywhere without charging a crazy fee or making the guests jump through a million hoops? I just want one clean list where I can put a fancy toaster from one place and maybe a gift card for a plant nursery from another and not have to manage five different logins. My head is spinning and I just need something that isnt going to break the second I try to customize it.
I saw some people talking about a few different options but they all look like they are for weddings and I dont want to look like I am asking for too much since its just a housewarming but our old apartment was tiny so we basically have zero furniture now and really need the help getting started. honestly fed up with these buggy sites and im ready to switch to literally anything else that wont make me cry at my desk tonight...
Honestly, most of those legacy sites have terrible scrapers that choke on non-standard metadata from smaller shops. It is super annoying when you just want a clean list. Before I suggest a specific stack, I have a couple questions:
